how do plant a seed . thats what i mean planting flowers seeds and plant seed .
How do u grow a plant or flower in a plastic cup ?
what you are interested in is a seedling, which will have to be tranplanted to a larger container as it outgrows the dimension of the cup. Take some moistened starter soil, fill cup about 1/2" to and 1" less that the height of the cup and plant your seed (depending on the type and inch or less deep in the soil) you may want to plant up to three or so to uncrease your chances of sprouting a seedling. You can cover this with plastic and place in a warm spot, top of fridge is nice and warm. don't forget ot water every few days. when the seed(s) has sprouted well enough you will remove the plastic cover(if you had a clear cup to place over the cup with soil to make an enclosure that would have been perfect to start with) so then you would remove it after the seed sprouted. PLace in a window or in indirect light. Make sure soil stays moist. you can do a finger test to determine when all of your plants need water. if the finger is dry when put in soil about an inch you need to water you plant. With the seedling however you always want to keep this somewhat moist, do not overwater though. when your plant is substantial enough you can transplant it into your garden or into another pot with soil...the poking of a few holes in the bottom of the cup will prevent stagnant water and mildew.
Reply:Follow the instructions on the seed packet...what really jumpstarts the process is to soak the seeds it a damp paper towel the night before. This softens up the seed and it sprouts fast after that.Get good potting soil/some are designed with the perfect mix to give it the nutrients it needs with good drainage.I have found that covering the top with plastic wrap with a few holes helps.
Reply:same way u would in a garden
Reply:Make sure to poke a couple of small holes in the cup first-to allow for water drainage. Then, put some soil in the container, plant the seed about 1/2 inch into the soil, place in the sun,or a sunny window, water a bit daily--and in a few weeks you'll be surprised how much it has grown.
Reply:Get a whole bunch of paper towels and wet them, and fill the cup to the top. Put the seed in the middle, then put the cup on the windowsill and watch it grow!
Reply:drill some holes in the bottom of the cup for drainage, put some small stones in the bottom (also for drainage), add some compost into the cup up to about half, add your seed(s) facing up (it doesn't matter for some seeds but it does for others so make sure you put them in top-side up to be sure), then top up the cup with compost, water well and keep the soil moist by watering and watch your plants grow!!!
Reply:put a seed in it!
