so does that generally mean i have to plant them 10 weeks prior to november im a novice and confused when should i germinate then put in ground? im in zone 2 canada. any help is appreciated
I just bought these rare seeds from a friend he aid it takes 10 weeks to flower and the harvest is early nov?
the ten weeks start from "plant out" date. it sounds like the plant also responds to shortening day length. try half as soon as the weather allows and half with the count backward technique
Reply:Rare seeds? I think you have been taken.
Reply:Just because it takes 10 weeks to flower does not mean the harvest is in 10 weeks. Unless the flowers are the harvest. It could take a 3 or 4 more weeks for a fruit to develop, and if it's something like a gourd another 2-4 weeks before you harvest. We really have to to know what we are dealing with here.
Reply:If these are plants that you're growing inside, it won't matter when you plant. (but "harvest" will only be in November if you plant in late august to early september if it's really 10 weeks to harvest)
If it's an outside plant, "november" will depend on what zone you live in. If, say it's "November" in zone 8, then harvest would be late september or early october for zone 5 or 6.
Tell us what they are, and we can give you more specific instructions.
