Who has luck planting flower seeds?

do they really come up and how long does it take

Who has luck planting flower seeds?
The easiest I've ever grown are zinnia and marigold. They require full sun,water...and are really lovely.
Reply:if they didn't come up i would be out of a job!

here is a site for you with all kinds of details about starting seeds

i hope it helps

happy gardening.

EDIT_ i have been sowing seed since february this season- usually am planting year-round , but got lazy in january..........
Reply:Different ones, different ways. Zinnias and marigolds jump out of the ground within a week. Dogs nibble zinnia plants, which is a bad thing.

Go to a garden store in your town %26amp; talk to them. Plants are day-sensitive, etc. Things manage to go thru a cycle in the 4-month Arctic summer, things manage to survive the 9-month Texas year.
Reply:Flower seeds are relatively easy sprouters. Just remember to always check out the date of packing or the expiry date in order to have a greater probability of germination.
Reply:get inf. from home%26amp;garden
Reply:well it is easy i have them outside but i plant them in my green house and they germinate within 5 days on average then they bloom in about 12 weeks only a few of them diddnt come up and i plant them when the packet tells me to
Reply:I have fair luck. I subscribe to the philosophy of the Farmers Almanac. I plant by the moon phases and I never plant before the Kentucky Derby, May. May is when the earth has warmed enough so the seed can germinate and the hard cold rains have gone(for the most part) Seeds need warmth, protection, light and food. Good luck
