Planting flower seeds?

My son and I were doing a project to plant seeds and watch them grow. He is 4. Anyway the seeds he picked (I dont remember the name of them) were suppose to grow into beautiful colorful flowers. Its been about 5 weeks now and all that has come up are very thick and long it looks like 3 leaf clovers. I pulled one of them out and they have very long roots. There is no signs of a beautiful flower. What happened?

Look at the back of the seed packets. They have important info on when and how to plant. Many flowers require a certain temperature or indoor starting before planting outside.

There are lots of very inexpensive seeds available. Why not tell your son that it was a "goof" the first time, and so start over?

Good luck.
Reply:What happened is you haven't waited long enough for the buds. It takes a couple of weeks for them to even show the first growth. Keep the project growing and you can teach your son another lesson in life....patience. Good Luck!
